Bondi-based Stephen Evans is one of Australia’s iconic landscape and still life artists. Drawing inspiration from his beloved hometown of Bondi, Stephen is renowned for his lively Bondi landscape and beachscape paintings.
Consumed by art from a young age, Stephen studied set design and stage management at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts before graduating and working towards becoming a full time artist in Sydney, which he accomplished in 2000.
With over twenty years of experience, Stephen’s technique draws not only from his personal experiences, but is also influenced by Van Gough, Cezanne, Gaudi, Miro, Juniper, Robinson, Matisse, Giacometti and Picasso.
Stephen’s sense of humour and passion for all things creative shine through his quirky Sydney oil paintings. Many capture the essence of the laid-back and sun- loving Australian way of life, creating unique, distinctive landscapes with technical brilliance and bold use of colour, light and form.
Stephen’s Bondi paintings, commissioned paintings of Sydney, Stephen Evans prints and Stephen Evans rusty and classic car paintings – with their vintage themes – are much sought after worldwide. Whether it’s a beachscape, landscape, floral still-life, mural, subject or even a desktop image, Stephen’s unique style and fresh approach define his work.
Stephen currently works out of his studio in Bondi, just a stone’s throw away from the famous beach. To get in touch with Stephen about anything from private commissions to corporate workshops, you can contact him through the link below.
